About JL³ Learning Solutions
Designing performance with intention
Organizations don't struggle because their people lack effort or commitment. Most teams are working hard. Yet many leaders still face inconsistent results, reactive problem-solving, and performance that fluctuates from team to team.
The underlying issue is rarely motivation. It is design.
JL³ Learning Solutions explores how the systems surrounding work shape performance. Instead of focusing only on individual behavior, the JL³ approach examines the conditions around the work: how expectations, capabilities, culture, systems, and tools interact to influence results.
When those conditions are aligned, performance becomes more stable, predictable, and sustainable.
A systems approach to performance
Traditional leadership development often focuses on improving individual skills. While skill development is important, it rarely addresses the broader system that shapes behavior inside organizations.
JL³ Learning Solutions approaches performance differently.
At the core of the JL³ approach is the JL³ Performance Levers™ framework, which identifies six key conditions that influence team performance:
Mindset Alignment – clarity of purpose, expectations, and shared understanding
Skill Readiness – whether people have the knowledge and capability required for success
Peer Norms – the informal expectations that shape everyday behavior within teams
Shared Capacity – workload balance, resource availability, and operational constraints
System Cues – the signals organizations send through policies, incentives, and processes
Tool Support – whether the tools and systems employees rely on actually enable performance
These six levers allow leaders to move beyond surface-level solutions and identify the root conditions affecting results. The framework is explored in depth in the book When Performance Stalls and through the free JL³ Performance Pulse™ assessment.
